Absolute Aqua-Vet Anchorworm+ | Advanced Pond Parasite Treatment for Anchor Worms (Lernaea)
Absolute Aqua-Vet Anchorworm+ is a targeted, professional-grade treatment developed to eliminate Lernaea spp. (Anchor Worms) — dangerous copepod parasites that burrow into the skin and tissue of freshwater fish, causing inflammation, secondary infection, and in severe cases, fish death.
Anchorworm infestations are more prevalent during the warmer months and in ponds with stagnant or slow-moving water, especially when fish are introduced without proper quarantine. This medication is designed to break the parasite’s life cycle by interfering with its chitin development, making it highly effective while remaining safe for aquatic plants and beneficial filter bacteria.
✅ Key Benefits:
-
Specifically formulated to eliminate anchor worm parasites
-
Chitin inhibitor disrupts parasite moulting process for total control
-
Safe for all freshwater pond fish, aquatic plants & filter systems
-
Ideal for summer parasite outbreaks or quarantine treatment
-
Does not harm water clarity or beneficial pond bacteria
📦 Available Sizes:
-
25g – Treats up to 660 gallons (3,000 litres)
-
50g – Treats up to 1,320 gallons (6,000 litres)
-
100g – Treats up to 2,640 gallons (12,000 litres)
🔬 How It Works:
This powerful medication targets the parasite’s chitin exoskeleton development. While the anchorworm continues feeding and growing, it becomes unable to moult successfully, resulting in death due to malformed exoskeleton and non-functional mouthparts.
This biological disruption means Anchorworm+ does not rely on harsh chemicals, making it ideal for eco-conscious pond keepers and those looking for effective yet gentle treatment.
💧 How to Use:
-
Shake the bag thoroughly before use to decompact the powder.
-
Measure out 1g per 7.35 gallons (33.36 litres) of pond water.
-
Mix the dosage into a watering can with pond water.
-
Distribute evenly across the pond surface.
-
Turn off UV clarifiers before treatment to ensure effectiveness.
-
Treatment Days: Apply on Day 1, Day 15, and Day 30.
-
UV sterilizers can be switched back on after Day 45.
🐟 Pro Tip:
For best results, quarantine new fish and perform routine pond checks during warmer months. Consider pairing with a broad-spectrum parasite treatment like Absolute Aqua-Vet Parasite Answer to target a wider range of parasites if needed.
