Absolute Aqua-Vet Gill Maggot+ | Targeted Treatment for Gill Maggot Parasites (Ergasilus)
Absolute Aqua-Vet Gill Maggot+ is a scientifically formulated treatment designed to eradicate Gill Maggots (Ergasilus) — a harmful parasitic copepod known for attaching to fish gills, impairing breathing and weakening overall health. This parasite commonly enters ponds through new, unquarantined fish, especially those from overstocked tanks or aquaculture systems.
This professional-grade solution uses a chitin synthesis inhibitor that halts parasite development, effectively eliminating them during their moulting stage — without harming your pond’s beneficial bacteria or aquatic plants.

Safe for all pond fish, aquatic plants, and filter media
-
Targets parasites by disrupting chitin exoskeleton formation
-
Won’t cloud water or disrupt your pond’s ecosystem
-
Easy-to-follow 3-stage dosing schedule for full parasite lifecycle control
📦 Available Sizes:

🧪 How It Works:
Absolute Aqua-Vet Gill Maggot+ works by inhibiting the production of chitin, a key component in the parasite's exoskeleton. The parasite continues to feed and grow, but when it sheds its exoskeleton, it is unable to regenerate a new one or form functioning mouthparts — leading to its death. This method ensures that parasites are targeted specifically, without harming your fish or pond environment.

📝 Good Pond Practice Tip:
To prevent future outbreaks, always quarantine new fish before introducing them to your main pond. Regular health checks and parasite control can significantly reduce the risk of infection and keep your fish thriving.
